Laptop with cloud software on a desk — SaaS in practice
SaaS: log in and work. No server on-site.

SaaS is the abbreviation of software as a service: you use a programme via the browser or an app, instead of installing it yourself on an in-house server. You pay a subscription. Security, updates and hosting are with the provider.

What SaaS is

  • Log in and start working immediately — no months-long implementation project required
  • Monthly or annual, often cancel monthly
  • Everyone in the team sees the same data (provided you set permissions correctly)
  • The supplier patches, you no longer need to work weekends

What SaaS is not

  • Not a box with a CD and a licence code on one PC
  • No 'we'll put a server under the desk'
  • Not the same as a separate WhatsApp app on a private phone

SaaS solution vs. SaaS platform

In Dutch, people search for SaaS solution (a product that covers a problem) and SaaS platform (a broader system to which modules connect). Slimbot is both in practice: the solution is the team inbox; the platform connects e-mail, social, chat, phone and optionally AI.

Dutch SaaS: why that matters

Much business software runs outside the EU by default. For customer conversations (names, numbers, complaints) you want to know where the data is stored. Slimbot hosts in the Netherlands, GDPR-compliant. That is a product choice, not a slogan.

Slimbot as SaaS for customer communication

You log in. You connect the channels you already have. The team works in one inbox. WhatsApp is one channel — not a product in itself. AI is allowed, not required. More on the SaaS page, omnichannel and pricing.
