Coexistence is the mode that lets your number run on both the WhatsApp Business app and the official API at the same time. This gives you the reliability of the official connection without giving up your familiar app.
What you keep

- Your WhatsApp Business app for regular one-to-one conversations
- Your existing chats and contacts
What changes
Coexistence only works with the WhatsApp Business app (not the regular consumer app). A few app features will no longer be available on that number:
- Disappearing messages, view-once and live location sharing
- Create new campaign lists (existing ones become read-only)
- A rate limit of 5–20 messages per second (more than sufficient for SMEs)
- One number per coexistence account
For normal business messaging you won't notice these limitations. You gain the official, secure sending layer — without ban risk.
