Retry Mechanisms
Something gone wrong? Slimbot simply tries again.
What is Retry Mechanisms?
With Retry Mechanisms, Slimbot automatically tries a failed step again, instead of stopping immediately. This way your processes survive temporary failures without you intervening. Fewer loose ends and less manual recovery work.
How does it work?
- Set for a step that it is retried if an error occurs.
- Set how often and at what intervals this happens.
- Slimbot automatically retries in the event of a temporary failure.
- If it keeps failing, you'll receive a notification to check yourself.
Use cases
Webshop: a temporarily slow payment integration doesn't block the order.
Accounting: invoice is still sent after a brief outage.
Shipping: label request succeeds on the second attempt after all.
Integrations: an external service that doesn't respond for a moment continues automatically.
Benefits
- Temporary issues resolve themselves, without your intervention.
- Fewer failed processes and loose ends.
- You're only alerted if it really doesn't work.
- More reliable integrations with external systems.
Frequently asked questions
Does Slimbot retry endlessly?
No. You set yourself how often and at what intervals it retries. If it still doesn't work after that, the attempt stops and you receive a notification.
Will I be notified if something fails permanently?
Yes. If all attempts fail, you receive a notification so you can check what's going on yourself.
