Rate Limiting
Protect your integrations against overload and abuse.
What is Rate Limiting?
Rate limiting restricts how many requests a system may send to Slimbot within a short time. This prevents a faulty integration or a malicious actor from overloading your platform, keeping everything running smoothly and reliably for you and your customers.
How does it work?
- Every API key automatically has a safe limit on requests.
- If a system sends too many requests, the excess is neatly throttled.
- In your dashboard you see if an integration is approaching the limit.
- Need more for a busy integration? We'll adjust the limit.

Benefits
- Your platform remains stable, even if an integration runs wild.
- Protection against abuse and automated attacks.
- Fair distribution so one system doesn't block the rest.
- Automatically active, no technical configuration needed.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I reach the limit?
Extra requests are temporarily throttled rather than executed. As soon as things calm down, everything continues as normal. Your customers won't usually notice anything.
Can I increase the limit if my integration grows?
Yes. If an integration consistently hits the limit, we adjust the limit in consultation to match your usage.
Does this also protect against attacks?
It certainly helps. By limiting requests, you prevent malicious actors from trying to flood your platform with requests.
