API Keys

Connect your systems securely with keys that you manage.

What is API Keys?

With API keys, you give other systems and apps secure access to Slimbot without sharing your password. You create a separate key for each integration, and you can revoke it at any time if a system should no longer have access.

How does it work?

  1. Create a new API key per integration with one click in your dashboard.
  2. Give the key a recognisable name, for example 'webshop' or 'accounting'.
  3. Paste the key into the app or integration you want to connect.
  4. See something suspicious? Revoke the key immediately, the rest keeps working.

Use cases

Webshop on Shopify or WooCommerce that automatically forwards orders.
Accounting integration with Exact or AFAS that synchronises invoices.
Own website that connects the chat or lead form to Slimbot.
Marketing tool such as HubSpot that exchanges contacts with your platform.

Benefits

  • Separate key per integration, so revoking never affects all your systems.
  • Never share your password with external apps.
  • Immediate overview of which system has access for what.
  • Revoke immediately if in doubt and keep the problem isolated.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I revoke a key?

Only the integration with that specific key stops working. Your other keys and integrations remain active.

How many keys can I create?

You create as many keys as you need. We recommend using a separate key per integration, so you keep track.

Can someone with my key do everything in my account?

A key gives access to the connected functions, not to your full account management. If you see misuse, you revoke it immediately.
