The three ways
- Your existing WhatsApp Business app via QR — quick, you keep your number. You start the first message to a new contact in your own app.
- Existing number to official WhatsApp — we first check how the number is currently set up. Not every number can be transferred one-to-one, and migration and verification may cause a brief interruption.
- New 085 number or business number — entirely via the official route, no phone or QR needed. Business verification with WhatsApp can take a few days.
Incoming messages work on all three. Contacting new contacts yourself officially goes via approved templates, and only with permission (opt-in). More explanation per option is on Choose WhatsApp connection.
How the conversation works
Choose "Screen sharing" when scheduling. Keep the phone with your WhatsApp number to hand. We'll walk through the steps together and at the end you'll see your first messages arrive in the Slimbot inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Will my number stay the same for customers?
With QR connection and migration to official WhatsApp, you keep your familiar number. Only with the "new number" option do you receive a different number.
Can multiple colleagues use one number?
Yes, that's exactly what the team inbox is for: one number, multiple colleagues.
Does WhatsApp itself also cost money?
Replies within 24 hours are not charged by Meta. Outgoing templates have a rate per message per country; we'll give an estimate in advance based on your volume.
