MFA
An extra lock on the door alongside your password.
What is MFA?
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) asks for a second proof when logging in, for example a code from an app. Even if someone knows your password, they cannot get in without that second step. This is one of the most effective ways to protect accounts against break-ins.
How does it work?
- You enable MFA for yourself or make it mandatory for the entire team.
- Team members link an authenticator app or e-mail/SMS code once.
- When logging in they enter the extra code alongside their password.
- You see in the overview who has MFA active.
Use cases
Protect sensitive customer data against stolen passwords.
Require MFA for everyone who can access financial data.
Extra security for team members logging in from home.
Meet security requirements of customers or insurers.
Benefits
- Strong protection against break-ins, even with a leaked password.
- Easy to enable for the entire team.
- Works with the common authenticator apps.
- Immediately increases trust with your customers.
Frequently asked questions
Isn't this cumbersome for my team members?
It takes a few extra seconds each time. That is more than outweighed by the protection, and on trusted devices it can be requested less often.
What if someone loses their phone with the code?
As an administrator, you can reset MFA for that team member so they can set it up again on a new device.
